Assembly Automation

Premier Automation are providers of turnkey bespoke assembly automation. We have experience of both machine design and integrating a wide range of technologies and equipment from the world’s leading manufacturers.

Trusted by OEMs.

Premier Automation holds coveted status with several automation OEMs, recognising both our capabilities as a systems integrator, and the trust the automation industry has in us. We hold ABB Value Provider, Kuka Systems Partner, and Siemens Solutions Provider status.

Assembly Automation

We design, install and support general assembly systems. Including rotary, linear, and robotic-based systems. These can integrate directly with operators or existing equipment, such as injection moulding, CNC, ovens, test, and inspection systems. We can support assembly automation flow in and out of the machines, with product transfer and manipulation using conveyors, robots, and AMRs.

Rotary Assembly

Very commonly, automated assembly is executed using rotary table systems. These systems centre around indexing units from manufacturers such as Camco or Weiss, which rotate a set of fixtures through assembly steps. They feature integrated technologies such as pneumatic insertion, servo or hydraulic pressing, vision inspection, laser marking, and much more. The machines are commonly fed components by either vibratory bowl feed or robot before assembly and outfeed of the finished product.

Robotic Assembly

Premier Automation design and install systems that require the manipulation, payload, or flexibility that only robotics can offer. We use industrial and collaborative robots from leading manufacturers such as ABB, Kuka, and Yaskawa, along with bespoke end-of-arm grippers and tooling to create turnkey solutions. Commonly used manufacturers for EOAT include Schunk, Schmalz, and Piab.

Assembly Technolgies

Integrating technologies from leading manufacturers forms a key part of automated assembly systems. This can include initial assembly steps such as pressing, inserting, welding, or tracking and quality measures such as vision inspection and laser marking. We commonly integrate to either existing machines in a customers workspace, or new bought in equipment specifically for a project.

Feeding Assembly Systems

To assemble products, components need to be fed into an assembly system; this is typically done at medium to high speed using vibratory bowl feeders, centrifugal bowl feeders, or flexible feed systems using vision and robotics. Low-speed systems can be fed manually by human operators or via magazine or tray loading. We integrate feed systems from leading suppliers, as well as designing bespoke nests, trays, magazines, pallets, and stillages to suit customers’ products.
